Walking through Narnia

I loved this family. They had so much imagination. Because little "D" was a little shy at first, Mom and Dad reminded him how the forest, tipped with frost, looked like Narnia. And it really did that morning. Absolutely gorgeous.

Miss "J" and little brother "D".

Thanks D family for a walk in Narnia.

baby... was it cold outside...

I had the opportunity to meet this fun family before the holidays. It was 9 degrees, albeit was a lot warmer than it is as I write this. We were frozen solid even with jump-in-the-car-warm-up-breaks, didn't help too much. However, a sunny day is usually a big bummer for photographers, but this day it wasn't really bad. The blue skies and white snow were amazing, and it almost seemed intentional that their clothing choices complemented the blue in the sky.

This background was chosen careful to accent their attire..heck, no..it was too cold to think about that...the building close and I got lucky!

I love this... the sky, the snow frozen (no pun intended) in the air and the talent!

Another awesome shot showcasing cool talent.

Thanks D family.

omg.

I have a 15 year old. Ok, husband and I have a 15 year old. :)
I didn't have time to blog about it as we were celebrating.

This is where we were.

Headliner...Kalee introduced us to this man/band's music. We are now a fan of City and Colour. Go listen and you will be too.

Happy Birthday Kalee. We are so proud of the young woman you have become. Tonight she is performing at the AAAA theatre for the Teens in the Spotlight concert. Come on out to see it!

tiny little peanut....

I would like to introduce you to Miss "K".

And yes, her parents too! I had the opportunity to meet this loving, extremely sweet family before Christmas. I loved their home, their attire, and most importantly...their personalities. You could say they are the whole package.

Miss K will celebrate her 1st birthday soon and it will be an especially special day. You see K, I think is just really curious...so curious that she couldn't wait to check everything out, so she came into this world almost 3 months early. But as you can see, she is thriving, she is happy, she is loved. You can check out her story here.

Thanks "S" family. Blessings to you.

snowy session

This extended family session was done before Christmas. It was snowing pretty hard, but since family members were traveling a good distance, there would be no making it up. So, we had a lot of fun in a short amount of time. This family was such a good sport about it all...I mean what could we do right?

This image makes me smile.

Thank you all.

seems like forever ago...

...that I took these photo of this family. Well, probably cause it was. It was still cold and very windy and very bright and very sunny. So, look for shade and shelter, I say. They had this great property and the colors of the trees were great...of course I choose a black and white photo to show that off...as you can tell. wink. wink.

ok. There is some of the color I was talking about.

What is crazy is when I showed up on their door step...Mom answered the door and I was like "Hola!?!" cause I didn't know this when we booked the session, she was my Spanish teacher in high school. I took tres anos (3 years for those non-spanish-speaking-folk and I don't know how to make that little squiggly line above the "n" in the type) and had her one of those years. I remember her talking about her little baby boy "C" now that I think back about it. Crazy huh?
Thanks "J" family. Gracias.

love this family

I loved this session way back this summer with Miss "E"...even though it was 85 degrees with 2000% humidity! She has such an awesome personality that it is so easy to have fun with her, talk with her...so her family really is no exception. E wanted to do a second session in the fall in addition to her summer session. So we figured let's include the whole enchilada... get the family photo and throw an engagement session in there for good measure...not to mention one family member has four legs, no not a freak of nature...of the furry kind. So without further ado, the afore mentioned whole enchilada..The light this early evening was perfection.

This one was the last frame...everyone put their regular attire back on, but it made for a great relaxed photo. I got some great crazy outtake photos..but I saved those for their eyes only.

Thanks everyone it was such a fun evening!!

Oh by the way....Happy New Year!! I don't know that I go with the grain on the whole making New Year's Resolutions...I figure if it is something that is good enough to change... shouldn't I have been doing this the whole year long?? But I didn't so here goes another shot. It is a nice time to reflect, renew, restore any of the other "re-'s. But there are a few things that are on my list #1 eat less, move more, I guess that counts as two but since the outcome is far better when both are applied I thought I would lump them together. #2 to be more organized in work, life, mind (whoa...that last one may be real tough). #3 correspond more....not just email, or facebook like good ol' fashion notes, cards, letters, you know the ones from many moons ago, that require an ever-increasing fee to send (ie: a stamp). #4 being the best I can be. I guess you are supposed to say that, not that I am holding myself to perfection, but no one wants to start the New Year...I want to be more of a schmuck. Nope..not me. Good tidings to all, I raise my perveribal glass. Cheers.
